Rachel Burnett, is a 20 old English Arts Council Sponsored, musician from Liverpool. She is currently studying at music at the University of Manchester. She has studied as a singer, composer and saxophonist at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music for the past seven years. While at JRNCM she has performed scenes from Massenet’s ‘Cindrellion’ as ‘Dororthee’ and ‘Olga’ in Tchaikovskys ‘Eugene Onegin’.
Last summer, Rachel passed her ABRSM singing Diploma with Distinction, and this summer she passed her ABRSM Saxophone Diploma with a 90% Distinction.
She has performed solos at many notable locations such as the ‘Last Post Ceremony’ at Menin Gate in Ypres, St Marks Basilica in Venice and Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. She has performed as a soloist alongside the BBC Philharmonic and Halle orchestra combined, when singing Raymond Brigg’s ‘The Snowman’ at Southport Theatre. As well as this she also performed alongside the Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra in the RNCM Concert Hall to an audience of over 500 people when performing Raymond Brigg’s ‘The Bear’. Rachel has been double shortlisted as a BBC Young Composer twice, and is currently releasing her own compositions on all streaming platforms.
She has been performing at open mics around Liverpool since she was 15, as well as busking every summer in Liverpool. She came third in the recent Liverpool Acoustic songwriting challenge, and won their 24 hour songwriting challenge. She performs piano and vocals to her thirty-nine thousand followers on tiktok live every week.
